Summary:
Manages the American Subcontractors Association of Western PA (ASAWPA), including membership recruitment and retention, networking, education programming, events management and marketing, communications and public relations includes social media, nonprofit governance, and administrative and financial management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Provides general administrative support and day-to-day administration for the association.
- Ensures that the officers and directors are fully informed on the condition and operations of the association and on issues that may affect its well-being and that of its membership.
- Maintains the financial and legal affairs of the association, including budgeting, financial management, dues invoicing and collection, maintenance of the by-laws, membership rolls and other mailing lists, and minutes of meetings.
- Plans and organizes monthly membership meetings, including educational programming, marketing and registration.
- Plans and organizes other special events, including periodic workshops, annual golf outing, and the annual networking evening, scholarship reception, scholarship fundraisers.
- Writes and publishes a monthly newsletter and manages and maintains a website.
- Works with Membership Committee to plan, organize and direct membership recruitment and retention programs.
- Plans and implements a social media presence to enhance the image of the association, construction subcontractors and the construction industry in general.
- Provides support to committees, Emerging Leaders and task force chairs, as necessary and appropriate.
- Maintains relationships with other associations, industry, government, public service organizations and others, as appropriate.
- Serves as the liaison between the association and ASA, including submitting all required reports in a timely manner.
Internal Relations:
Reports to the president, executive committee and the board of directors.
External Relations:
Has regular contacts with the volunteer leaders and members, others in the construction industry, representatives of other associations, and ASA and its chapters.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or a related field, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Three to five years of association management experience.
- Three to five years of office and financial management.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and email software, maintaining social media platforms. Experience working with and researching on the Internet and graphic design platforms such as CANVA
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and accomplish short- and long-term deadlines within heavy workloads and under pressure.
- Demonstrate ability to work within a team setting and to work on project teams to achieve overall association goals.
- Ability to travel locally to association and industry meetings and nationally to ASA meetings.
- Ability to work alone, self-motivated, organized, desire to create and sustain relationships with current and new members
- Have a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the variety of events hosted throughout the year

Contractor Fee Range: To be discussed
Travel Expectations:
Annual National Convention located in a different city each year. Travel expenses are paid for by the chapter. Travel to monthly meetings, all social events and school visits.
Time Commitment:
Part-Time positions. 70-80 hours/month: July, September, October, November, December, January, February. 100 – 130 hours/month: August, March, April & May
Benefits: none, part-time position
